I wish my dad was still around to play Santa. In my childhood, he didn't play Santa for me, though I'm sure if he had grandkids before he passed, he would have played Santa for them.

Semi-unexpected trip

Well my friends Char and Evy are youth ministers at their church. Evy's been asking me for ideas for things to do with the kids and for fundraisers off and on. Well they told me of an upcoming trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom about a month ago. When the announcement was made on Face-book, I commented that I hope they have a great trip. And they offered me a chance to come along.

Yesterday, was the trip. I knew it wasn't going to start off well when Char told me he'd pick me up around 1100. He didn't pick me up till about 12ish. we got to the church about a half hour later. At that time, the Pastor wasn't there. So we had to wait for him. then the cousins. by the time they all arrived and we got situated it was pushing 115. We got on the road about 130.

I realized that on the way, we'd be going through Dixion California, where my dad is buried. I haven't been able to get out to see his grave at the National Veteran's Cemetery there. Anyways, we're about half way through Dixon when the kids and Evy tell Char (who's driving) that they need a rest stop. The Next exit? just happens to be the exit one takes to that National Cemetery. It was too weird. Anyways after that stop we're on the road again

another 30 minutes or so we're at Discovery Kingdom. We were told by one of the Pastor's kids that they were in the Skittles lot, so when we pulled up to the parking attendants booths to pay for the parking, we asked which lot was the skittles lot. She looked back at us blankly. "You can buy skittles inside". we tried explaining what  we were referring to, and she told us  "the skittles tram was out in the front of the parking lot. and she'd had never heard the lot be called the skittles before." we laughed and decided to try to find the lot ourselves. We drive and find the Pastor's car parked in Low and behold, the Skittles section of the parking lot. I think they may have been hitting the egg nog a little early? maybe?

Well we get inside and get our pictures with Miss Gingerbread-man and Blitzen and break off into our three groups. The cousins in one group. The pastor, his wife and kids in another group, and Char, Evy and me in the last with the three kids we drove to the park. We sat down and circled the rides and things we wanted to see before heading out into the park.

The first stop off the entrance area was the dolphin tank, the water was so blue that you couldn't see the dolphins at first unless they were at the window. They were showing off and ever so often, swam by the window, scaring the proverbial crap out of the kids. I believe both girls screamed as the dolphins said hello.

 We decided to hit some of the rides next, Cobra, Medusa and Kong. None of those were a ride for me, so i stayed safety on the ground and took pictures of what I could. I could see the kids having a blast, which I was greatful for. After that we headed over to the Land animal area. we got there about 356ish, at 358 Evy and I overheard the park attendents talking

PA1: Two minutes
PA2: Yes.

We asked PA2 what it meant by 2 minutes, we found out that they were about to close the land animal section. Apparently they feed the animals about 4 pm and during the winter they just close that part of the park at 4. Inquiring further, we found out that they opened that part of the park at 2 pm, so the land animals were only open for two hours. sucks.... I really wanted to see the tigers and the lions.

lets see, after the kids did the last ride of the day on one of the rides in the land animal area, we headed towards the Killer Whale's tank. the kids got distracted by the snow they had at the park, there was also a sledding hill which in retrospect looked really fun, but I didn't ride it I tried to get some pictures here, but it was really hard to. Right afterwards, I spotted a ride that is very reminicent of the teacups at Disneyland, but at Discovery Kingdom, they were called Monky bowls or some such thing. This ride I figured I could do and went on with Evy and the Kids, Char at first decided to stay off, but the kids, after finding out, started to tease him and playfully call him a chicken. He came on and the six of us had a blast. I was fine until the bowl we were in started to slow down, that's when I got a bit dizzy. After that we headed to eat. we were going to see the killer whale after linner, but we never got around to it.

while we were eating the Pastor's group came by and the pastor said that he wouldn't mind taking the three kids we had to give us a break. we finished eating and went to the park's tree lighting (which was amusing) several of the carolers seemed more into it than the others. and you could tell when they were faking smiles. *Shrug* think it was more for the kids than anything. I did some shopping and we headed back to the Medusa ride to meet up with the pastor's party. all day it was touch and go with the rain, and as we approached the ride, several park employees were telling us that the park was closing at 630 due to the weather. we did some last minute shopping and headed home.

We stopped in Dixion again on the way home, but the ride home was a bit on the uneventful ride, though I was pleased. One of the girls, about when we entered west sacramento, asked Are we there yet. The whole ride there I was waiting for it, but it didn't come, but I'm glad I heard it at least once on the way home. ^^;

Welcome to the Office Building Fun-house...of doom

Well last night we had the next installment of DarkBlade. As we left off, Yukio was having a break due to the evil magic in the building. Well, Talone, our own party's magic user chatted, to put it kindly, to an old 'friend'. needless to say it ended up in a fire fight and the windows on the second floor of the building. Titanium tried jumping into the open window, however he was blown sixty yards away. Luna (my character) decides to use the stairs. However before she could react to the posing boss, A bullet fired from Titanium's uber gun, hits the force field around him and forces William the insane mage to crash out of the one office building and into another one.




The party moves into the new building. The first floor, all the lights go out, those of us who failed their body check *cough*luna*cough* ended up face first in what would become to be seen as Blood...and a lot of it. since the stairs were trapped, I decided to punch through the ceiling. After getting the party up through the hole I made, the room we ended up in started to get warmer and warmer. I tried again to punch through the ceiling, but fail and end up scared out of my wits as an evil magic monstercomes out of now where. The only way out is using the stairs. For those who failed their soul check, it was a nightmare, for Talone, he saw his party eyeless and inside each eye was a demon we'd come to know as Missy leaning out of the eye socket and chanting "i'm watching yoooou" over and over again, for Titanium it was the entire team as charred bodies, for Luna, for anyone she looked at it was her Stepfather covered in blood. Raging, she attacked the nearest one, who happened to be the other psycran of the party,(The one two games earlier had accidently spaced her). Talone finally came to the rescue and turned off the magic that had possessed her.



After that, Yukio, who had been out all this time, had finally woken up (since his player finally arrived) and after being filled in, we head upstairs. The other Psycran got hit with the mind possession, but Talone was able to save him. Next floor up, was again drenched with Darkness and had zero gravity to boot. Luna tried punching though the ceiling again and kept going up and up, or at least she thought she was. the entire party had been lifted off the floor. Talone using his magic detector was able to get out of his bubble. He used rope to tie to Luna's leg, then to the rest of the party, one by one, bubbles popped and the characters came tumbling down, Luna's bubble was the last to pop, and instead of falling down, since she was in mid jump, she did go up, inertia carried her and the rest of the party, thanks to the rope, up through 5 floors, landing on a plane of black dawne soilders. all pointing guns at them.



We don't know how it happened,but Titanium went Hulk smash on everyone, starting with the psycrans. He, looking demonic, attacked Eopic (the other psycran) and slashed at him with really wicked looking knives. Luna tried punching him to either knock him out or distract him. Distract him she did.... enough for him to turn on her. Remember in the previous post, I believe I said that Luna was at half hit points, well with her shields down, Luna's just a sitting duck. Needless to say, Luna proved to be a distraction for Demon Titanium... to the point of -40 hp...I was luckily revived, only to come face to face with Missy herself. talk about the winner of Little Miss Creepy contest. She takes the form of a child and after talking to Talone, Titanium and Eopic, she turned her sights on Luna. After bouncing around her, Missy starts to 'play' with luna, first by taunting, then by taking one of her artificial eyes and throwing it to Yukio. He tried to hold onto it, but failed, it dropped from his hand and rolled back. During this entire scene, Luna's vision was in two places at once, giving her quite the headache. Missy then took her eye and swallowed it. then ripped open her stomach, pulled it out and then put it back into Luna's eye socket..... not a pleasent experience. she then told luna that she was fun to play with and sent her up to the next floor. She then taunted Yukio some, telling him that she knew where Kit was (Yukio's love intrest) and then sent him to the next floor as well.

I can't remember what happened next exactly, but we ended up back on the bottom floor and Black Dawne started to surround the place. We tried to run for the stairs when they opened fire. Luna was at 1 hp and failed her defense roll, thus dying once again. Twice in one night, I couldn't believe it. but again I was revived. after an epic calvery arriving moment, the party was wisked away and transported back to the Psycran World ship.

From Spaced to Explosions to Nightmares

well, tonight was the next game for Darkblade. Luna spent the first part of game in cryo due to the humans didn't know what to do to help her. the only ones that could help her are Psycrans. So we head to a psycran mother ship, so to speak, and the psycrans fix Luna. She ended up with an artificial lung, due to her natural lung had collapsed, and both of her eyes had exploded from the vacuum of space as well, so the psycrans had replaced her eyes, giving her artificial eyes. However, her eyes are now completely white, save the black pupils. six days of being in medical bay and her fellows didn't know what was going on with her. fun right?

well Luna's back on her feet, so to speak and we're immediatly sent on a mission. Luna's CO doesn't even have time to check her medical charts to judge how much she can or cannot do. So he treats her like a weak human, Not the smartest thing to do to Luna, if you want to remain in one piece and healthy, mind you.

well we're all sent off to some planet to stop the enemies from invading and there are explosions galore. evil magic, anti-air missiles, necrotic meltings, everything.  there's some kind of thermal event happening when we 'land' and our party's mage is telling us that it's the kind of magic he uses, only colder... or something.

after a combat and hiding from heavier ordinances, we find one of the enemy mages, well at least his hiding place. We head into the building, and I made the roll, so Luna caught a glimpse of something that would drive her insane, but managed to push past it. My fiance,  the party's commanding officer, however wasn't so lucky... he got an image of a giant monster standing over a pile of corpses, friends and fellows that had died, the one on top, being Kit, (My character from the last time Mike had run darkblade, this is a second game, a few years difference) His love interest from the past who had been MIA. the Monster picked up Kit's body and ate it, driving Yukio mad with grief, his next turn, the nightmare grows worse (He rolled the worst roll ever)

and that's where our gracious DM leaves it.... stupid cliffhangers.

I can't believe I got spaced...

I'm currently in a second edition game of Big eyes small mouth. My friend Mike is the DM and the campaign is space opera of his own design.

I'm playing a race he created called a psycran and we were on an enemy ship, needing to take it over so that we could get intelligence. so our plan was simple, take over the bridge and flush the ship of the enemy before turning it over to our commanding officers.

Last game, we traveled part of the ship via the air ducts. We managed to get past several traps, till I fail a body check and end up causing the whole section of duct to crash down into what at the time we thought was an empty room. When we gain our bearings, we notice that the room wasn't so empty. There were four of the heavy armored suits standing there. Titanium, one of the other players, decides to attack them.

However after he fires a shot off, he finds out that they are empty (when we opened them, they had sleeping enemies inside). My fiance is playing the group's ranking officer, He takes one of the heavy mechs, as does Titanium and the party's other psycran took three
of them suits, I denied the last suit.

we leave the room and find the bridge. Titanium and I, dress in the enemies uniform move onto the bridge and lie to the officers there trying to get them to lock down the ship. they do so before we attack. anyways, I move towards the widow of the bridge to dispatch the two enemy officers there. however it's not my turn. the other Psycran Eopic fires his heavy cannon and rolls almost the worst roll ever. he misses the officer and hits the window, which starts to crack and air was being sucked out into the void of space.

My turn I pick up the officer that he had missed and tossed him into the hole since the blast doors weren't closed yet. Titanium closed them his next round, and would be three rounds till they closed completely.

A round before the doors would be closed, and the void of space dragged what would now be goo and red stuff of the officer through the hole, making it bigger. and of everyone, I FAIL my body check. so I get sucked though the hole. thankfully, for now, I was in my powered up form and had a bubble of air that would last about 10 minutes. I look behind me and the blast doors close. great, right?

I hear my commanding officer contacting our ship, asking for evac for me. they try to find me. however before they do, thank you DM, I just happen to be in the one point in space that is in the path of an oncoming meteor, which I try moving with my telekinesis and manage to move it so that it just grazes me. However because of that, it knocks me out of super form and there I am, no oxygen left. after I loose consciousness, I am picked up.

and that's where my DM left it.

Gun Rights should have some Controls. ((This was going to be my post for July 4th))

Last week, SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) upheld ruling on the second amendment.  In today’s California Forum (in my local newspaper the Sacramento Bee) They had several editorials on the subject of Gun Control.

Now according to my fiancé, my political correctness filter is still in place, so I may seem hypocritical in what I am about to say, but after reading the columns, I have to agree with both views. Our amendment rights should be protected, first and foremost. But I also think that there should be some control on the sales of firearms.

There are several California State laws, that I think are good. I could just be naïve, but, hear me out.

In 1991, California passed a law that Handgun purchasers must obtain safety training and certificates before buying a weapon. To me that’s smart, everyone who has a weapon should know how to handle the weapon before given the chance to have one in the home. To me, it shows competence. 

In 1993, background checks for all gun buyers. Again, to me it’s smart. If you’re convicted of a violent crime or misdemeanor, you are barred from owning or buying a gun. I don’t know how it is in the rest of the country concerning this however.

In 1994, Firearms can’t be carried within 1,000 feet of schools either public or private. For as long as I’ve been paying attention to the news, I don’t remember any school shootings IN California in the last 15 years or so… I could be wrong in my assessment.

I just think that when it comes to firearms in general, COMMON SENSE should have precedence concerning laws and controls that some may find that it limits the second amendment. I know some out there are thinking Government that interferes with it’s peoples rights guaranteed by our constitution is bad. But sometimes, I think, they have some good ideas.

I know that if people really wanted to buy a gun and the gun store won’t let them, they will find a way to buy an unregistered one out of someone’s trunk somewhere. The chances that that gun will be used in a violent crime are high, I just don’t want to be the one that that gun is used on, or anyone that I know or love. Like my fiancé always says, the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.

I also know that it is impossible to make a world without guns now as well, people need ways to defend themselves, it’s in human nature to protect what is theirs by any means necessary. How many people carry pocket knives with them?

I don't? Lets Try I do... seriously

I recently read an article in the June 21 2010’s issue of Newsweek, the Article was titled “ ‘I Don’t’ The Case against Marriage” by Jessica Bennett and Jesse Ellison. The article was the writers’ views of marriage and how it was outdated. Curious, I decided to read it.


Now I think I have been spending too much time with Constitutional Crusader, but after reading the article (and picking it apart as I went along, mainly picking that up from my fiancé), I am, needless to say, not impressed  by the poorly executed article.

First off, They, the writers, did NOT cite any sources for their ‘facts’ or any studies they quoted from. I don’t know about you, but I know that had I written an essay or something like that article in college, I would have gotten it back with red marks (oh no the dreaded red marks that make kids think they did something bad) all over it, asking where my sources were and no matter how great the essay was, or how thought provoking, no sources, no A, simple as that.

Second, I know this is probably asking too much of Newsweek and their writers, but a little Objective Journalism? It couldn’t hurt? Why not make a case FOR Marriage? The Sanctity of Marriage even? Could it harm anyone? I, personally, don’t think so, but then again I’m one of the conservative know-nothings.

Third, I wish they could have listed all the facts, not just the ones that made Marriage to be the “bad Guy”, for example

“In 2010 we know most spousal rights can be easily established outside the law, and that Americans are cohabiting, happily, in record numbers. We have our own health care and 401(k)s and no longer need a marriage license to visit our partners in the hospital.”

Okay No License, okay you can visit them in the hospital. But what about calling the shots when they can’t speak for themselves? What about if they are in a coma, can you tell the doctors what to do for their health? Unless they have a written Medical Power of Attorney, they wouldn’t be treated like a spouse.

What about, like in the State of California, if you’re not married and your partner dies, unless you are married, the surviving partner doesn’t have access to any pensions or Social Security Monies that your deceased partner may have had.

“So when conservatives argue that same-sex couples are going to “destroy” the “sanctity” of marriage, we wonder, wait, didn’t we already do that? “Social science tells us fundamentally that this system is not working,” says Curtis Bergstrand, a sociologist at Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, who has written on marriage.”

If given enough time, we can destroy anything. But Marriage is one of the world’s oldest institutions and it has survived centuries, yes it has changed with new generations growing and changing with human civilization. But again, that’s human nature. We can destroy, but then again we can create too.

“Gone are the days of the nuclear nest; in its wake is a motley mix of single parents, same-sex couples, and yes, unmarried monogamists. Anthropologist Helen Fisher, who studies the nature of love, might say that it’s a symptom of our biology: She believes humans aren’t meant to be together forever, but in short-term, monogamous relationships of three or four years. For us, it’s not that we reject monogamy altogether – indeed, one of us is going on six years with a partner – but that the idea of Marriage has become so tainted, and simultaneously so idealized, that we are hesitant to engage in it”

How does that explain relationships that have lasted several decades? What about those couples that celebrate their Golden Anniversaries? That’s definitely not “short term”. And I don’t think it’s that Humans aren’t meant to be together forever, but the decline of the emphasis placed on Religion in the public square by the courts that has resulted in the decline of marriage.

And speaking of Nature, let’s look at what monogamous animals there are. First one I can think of are Wolves. Then there are squirrels. There are several other animals out there that are Monogamous, I just can’t think of them at the moment. If it exists in nature, and humans learn from what they see, how hard is it to believe that humans can be monogamous? I mean seriously?

In my opinion, there are three people in a marriage, you, your spouse and God, hence your marriage vows. The article keeps mentioning that we’ve got less religion this and less religion that, okay, that may be one of the problems, don’t you think?

I thought times have changed and the men and women share the chores now? I know, growing up, my parents shared the chores. I saw my Dad cooking more often than I saw my mom cooking, but then my mom worked days and my dad nights. And now, I share chores with my fiancé. How about in your own households? My dad was there for me growing up, but then again the article mentioned that marriage was to get men to take responsibility for their offspring.  So now marriage is a trap? How convenient. Have these writers even been married?

“Committing to one person forever is a long time” says Helen Fisher. “I wonder how many people really think about that”


Gee, I didn’t know forever was a really long time!... thanks for setting me straight Helen. I couldn’t have guessed it on my own. Seriously? I’m pretty sure most of those people who are inviting you to their weddings have thought about that question, hence why they are walking down the aisle. I know I’ve thought about it, and when I think of the future and guess who I see at my side… my fiancé.

The article, in my opinion is nothing but three pages of wasted space. It cries wolf at everything they think is wrong with the institution of marriage because some humans are too stupid to remain in a relationship long enough to justify marrying. It insults those people who have been in a marriage longer than 10 years and makes children of parents who stayed married for years feel like something was wrong with them because they didn’t have two houses that they lived in, or weekends with dad and his new wife. It fails to take in account marriages that ended in the loss of a partner because of death, but seems to include it in their statistics for the amount of times a person in Texas is married. They make those of us who believe in finding our soul mates sound like we’re looking for our next junkie fix. The writers make it sound like romance has no place in the intellectual household. “Waiting for Marriage” is sacrilege to these writers, after all, why marry at all?

Marriage only works when both partners make it work, if one person gives up, then the marriage has no where to go.

Tell me why should we take advice from someone who, in all likelihood, never said “I do”? Would you take sexual advice from a virgin?

Drunks Scare Me

Last Wednesday I came to the Library to return and check out some books. I was waiting outside for Rich to come pick me up so we could go to our weekly session of Greek Game. I was browsing though a book and some guy came up to me and said I was Beautiful. I thanked him, being kind and all, he then said my book was beautiful as well. That kinda creeped me out, but I said thank you and went back to reading, hoping he'd take the hint and move along. 

He didn't.

He sat down on the same bench I was, rattling about something. I smiled and nodded, like the old adage says. He then leaned over and asked if I would stand up. I answered No. He said he wanted to give me a hug. Again I said no. He then stood up and tried to get a girl walking into the library to come over to him. She gave him a look that said hell no and went into the library. I tried to concentrate on my book, but I did smell the scent of alcohol come from him when he sat down again.

He muttered something and then leaned over again to ask me if he could KISS ME. I responded with "I Don't think my Fiancé would appreciate it." He blinked "W-What?" I repeated myself and he then apologized several times. I told him it was okay, hoping he'd get the hint and leave me alone. He didn't for the second time he asked if I'd stand up so he could give me a hug. I declined again, praying for Richard to get there soon. I was tempted to go back into the Library, but I was afraid he'd try to hug me when I stood up. 

His friends finally came up and I swear, he was about to start a fist fight right there. I was also wishing I had brought my cell phone with me, so I could have called the police or something. Rich finally drove up and I was able to get away from the drunk. 

It scared me to no end that night.

Greek Game

Well it's been a while since I've updated about Greek Game.

Since I've last updated, 7 new players have been added and added to the 3 that were already on board, that's 10.... The biggest Greek Game I've ever witnessed. I'm not so sure about some of them, two of the new adds were actually bringing their characters back from the previous games. And last week, Greg (who is an oldie) Finally was able to join us.

I came from that session with a wow. It was unbelievable on how much the absence of one guy can effect game. It didn't seem right till he joined us and I am glad he has.

Two Years - Dreams and Reality

Two years ago, I was thought today was going to be my wedding day. The 9th of may in 2008, my wonderful boyfriend proposed to me. during the next couple of weeks, we chose May 22nd 2010 to be our wedding day. only then I didn't know what was ahead of me. I didn't know I would lose my father later that year to cancer and a heart attack, nor did I know that we'd lose the house and have to move. I didn't know I'd lose my job either.

I also didn't know that I'd loose two of my pets. February of 2009, We had to put down Snoopy, my cat, then two days ago, we lost my lab of 14 years.

if someone told me that I'd suffer all that loss in the span of 2 years, and that I wouldn't be celebrating my wedding today, I would have laughed in their faces.

Hopefully one day in the next couple of years, I will be writing and telling everyone that I and Rich will be getting married. but alas, today wasn't to be the day

I guess the constitution is "Guidelines?"

I was on Face book earlier and came across a friend who had posted a news article from Salon.com.

it was on the recent immigration bill signed into law by the Gov. of Arizona. She called it unconsitutional among other things so I asked, why was it so wrong for a state to protect their borders and their people? before going to read the whole story.

And I read the article. it's here if you wish to read it.

the one glaring problem I saw was that Illegal immigrants were considered citizens by the writer of the article.
Do they even check their facts anymore?

Amendment 14
Section 1: All persons born or Naturalized in the United States, and are subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

well if that's the law, how are Illegals protected under the Constitution?  Did we hand out green cards as these guys that are hopping the fence to get here? did the writer of the article forget this amendment also?

The powers not delegated to the Untied States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

So are these just guidelines to follow when it's benifitical for EVERYONE?

For the Greater Good and for the Good of the United States, I would not mind being pulled over and asked to show identification/green card/ papers, what have you to show that I'm a citizen of the United States.

I've been watching this season's Celebrity Apprentice, and have been feeling for Brett Michaels and the charity he is playing for. A couple of weeks ago (on the show), he got news that his daughter might have Diabetes and was scared that she would have to take four shots a day to cope with it.

My mom, Future father in law, and several of my friends are diabetic, so I know about the disease.
anyways, last week, Brett had an emergency appendectomy. and today he apparently had a brain hemorrhage.

Greek Game Redone - Session One (and some history)

Well tonight, after a long time of waiting, we were able to, finally, get started on Greek Game.


Greek Game is a brain child of my friend Jester, who started this game way back in 2005. I've been involved with the game since it's start and my Character, Daphne, has gone though MANY MANY changes, mainly because one of the players, Kivan, wanted to be the STAR and to do that, he wanted to be the class Daphne was.


When we first started, Daphne was going to be a bard. Xena was a main influence on my characters at the time and I wanted Daphne to be similar to Gabrielle from the show. However, I was (and still am) New to DnD and I didn't know how to use Bardic Music right (according to Kivan). And instead of letting me learn, he basically rebuilt Daphne where the bard part was no longer involved. Daphne has gone though MANY MANY changes that I can't remember what she was during the multiple rebuilds/restarts of the game at different levels, that finally we settled on Barbarian and she is still that race. Many players left and some joined till the last time we ran game we had Daphne, Lysander, Zotikos, Kivan, Laurel, Gregorio and Aloysis.


Anyways, about 2 years ago, we got an email from Jester, saying that Kivan had hacked into her email accounts and what not and she just ended her friendship with him (He is a major @$$ and I could go on and on about him, but that's not what this blog post is about). She wanted to know who would be willing to continue with game reguardless of Kivan. Since my Fiance and I disliked Ryan and wished to continue without him, we were totally up for it. Unfortunately, life happened and got in the way of all of us to prevent to play game


Now, 2 years after the fact, we have started again, this time at Level 1 (Never in all the restarts did we start at level 1). and the best, it's without Kivan. I was able to build Daphne as Barbarian, and actually didn't have to have anyone build her for me or make corrections, unlike before, when someone built her for me because I was "Too New". and unlike before, I've added werewolf affliction to my character so she has a level adjustment of 2 at first level. ((I'll post her bio in a post in the future))


As I said before, Tonight was the first game. The only player characters currently are Daphne (me), Lysander (My fiance) and Zotikos (Milante) We were all Sacrifices to the Minotaur of Knossos. We have arrived at the palace and are waiting to be thrown into the Labyrinth to be sacrifices to the bull beast. unfortunately we didn't have enough time to actually get out of the starting area so to speak so not much memorable happened to us, only that the "womanizing" Lysander got lucky first game with a serving girl. ((*Daphne in the background groaning in disgust*)).

The best part is, we had fun, more fun, I venture to say, than we have ever had in a session of Greek Game. ((except for the Bull Sh-t moment in one game that Daphne had.... needless to say, coming from a mild-manner shy girl, it was.... memorable))

 Jester is also an artist, Here's a better rendering of Lysander than before (see his pic at bottom of my blog.) She made the comment that this is very fan service-y. And I admit, it is. *can't wait to see how Daphne turns out*

Go British Airways

As we know, we see discrimination in some form or another almost everyday and often times it leaves a sour taste in our mouths. The following story shows us the side of diversity that we are all working for. It is a pleasant twist to see that there are companies and individuals who face discrimination head on, if only one small step at a time. Enjoy reading the positive side of diversity...

I applaud British Airways for their action in this situation. On a British Airways flight from Johannesburg, a middle-aged, well-off white South African lady has found herself sitting next to a black man. She called the cabin crew attendant over to complain about her seating. "What seems to be the problem, Madam?" asked the attendant. "Can't you see?" She said. "You've sat me next to a kaffir. I can't possibly sit next to this disgusting human. Find me another seat!" "Please calm down Madam" the stewardess replied. "The flight is very full today, but I'll tell you what I'll do- I'll go and check to see if we have any seats available in club or first class." The woman cocks a snooty look at the outraged black man beside her (Not to mention many of the surrounding passengers). A few minutes later the stewardess returns with good news, which st delivers to the lady, who cannot help but look at the people around her with a smug and self satisfied grin: "Madam, unfortunately, as I suspected, economy is full. I've spoken to the cabin services director, and club is also full. However, we do have one seat in first class."
Before the lady had a chance to answer, The stewardess continues... "It's the most extraordinary to make this kind of upgrade, however, and I have had to get special permission from the captain. But, given the circumstances, the captain felt that it was outrageous that someone be forced to sit next to such an obnoxious person."

With which, she turned to the black man sitting next to the woman, and said: "So if you'd like to get your things, sir, I have your seat ready for you..." At which point, apparently the surrounding passengers stood up and gave a standing ovation while the black man walked sup to the front of the plane.

People will forget what you said..... People will forget what you did.... but people will never forget how you made them feel.

I can't wait

For years, ever since I was a kid, I've been a fan of the A-Team. I remember watching the show with my dad and Grandfather. Even now I'm a fan of the show. When I found out that they were going to do a movie about it, years ago, I was skeptical. Usually TV Show turned Movie doesn't work well. But I am willing to give it a shot, espcially after I saw the original movie trailer.

Well they just released the second movie Trailer





And it looks promising, well for me anyways. and the best part.... it opens on my birthday.

the last several years I've not wanted to celebrate my birthday, but this year, I'm excited because I have a movie I'm looking forward to seeing.

Stand and Deliver.... Part two

Earlier this month, I posted a story about Mr. Escalante, the CA math teacher that the movie Stand and Deliver was based on.

earlier today, Mr Escalante passed away. he was 79.

Stories like his, inspire all of us in some form or another. In my humble opinion, People like Mr. Escalante are on a path chosen by God, himself, to help others.

The California maths teacher who inspired the film Stand And Deliver, Jaime Escalante, has died aged 79.
Escalante, a Bolivian immigrant, transformed a tough high school in Los Angeles by motivating struggling students to excel at maths and science.
The school had more students studying advanced calculus than all but three other state schools in the US.
Escalante died in Reno, Nevada, where he was undergoing treatment for bladder cancer, AP news agency reported.
Edward James Olmos played Escalante in the 1988 film Stand And Deliver.
Olmos said Escalante had proved that inner city students were able to perform at the highest level, and left an important legacy for American education, AP said.

Is Demonic Possession real?

Earlier this week, Constitutional Crusader told me that in a recent comment on a blog he used to follow he got inflammatory responses to his response about "Demonic Possession"

I don't know about you, my readers, but I, personally do believe that it is real, even though it's rare. And I also believe that a person can be possessed by an evil spirit along with the devil himself. My examples will be of evil spirits, not the devil as the Chief exorcist says in this article.

I've been watching the Ghost Adventures guys on the Travel Channel and I have seen in three different episodes and in three different areas, two demonic possessions (either full or partial) and one non-evil possession. Two of the episodes the possessions happened to Zak, and in the other example, Nick Groff was possessed.

In the episode of "Poveglia Island" (2009), the team goes to the island of Poveglia, off the coast of Venice Italy. The place has had a long and dark History behind it, including a mental hospital, a place they sent plague victims, and murders. if you go to the link I have provided, you can watch the clip of Zak's possession. There's a moment where Nick was provoking the spirits, calling in Italian to use their energy. a few seconds later, Aaron doubles over light headed and feeling like his energy was drained. A few seconds after that, while Zak was using a digital EMF detector, an unexplained orb of light zooms across the screen, disappearing before it hits the detector. The detector then read 22.2 in a place that had no electricity. after the phenomenon, the detector completely shut off as if drained of it's batteries. Shortly after this, Zak started to act differently than he is normally.  He yelled at Aaron and was cussing (though they do cuss when surprised by some unexplained noise or movement). He resisted Nick as Nick tried to get him out of there, out of the 'bad room' as they later deemed it. Later in Zak's narrative of the episode,  he said he remembered a red fog going over his vision and a feeling of Anger filling him. Once Nick finally got Zak from the building, the feelings of anger left him.

I don't know ho these things can be made up, especially after I have witnessed paranormal and unexplained things happening to me (granted no demonic possessions)

In another episode, "Moon River Brewery" (2009), Nick started to back out. On screen, Nick was acting weird. When they (Zak and Aarron) flipped from night vision to normal lighting, they tried to get Nick to respond to him, after the second or third time, they finally got Nick's attention. The look on Nick's face was that of angry intent. As they were trying to get Nick's attention, they caught a black shadowy figure leave though Nick's back. A second or two after that, Nick snapped back to reality and was disoriented.
Nick said later that there was voices in his head that wanted him to kill Zak and Aaron. The team along with some paranormal experts that they talked to, believed that it was a partial demonic possession.

I also believe in Non-demonic entities could possess someone.

For example. in the "Preston Castle" episode (2009), Zak was possessed by the spirit of a murdered woman (I think). He started acting stranger than normal when they came across the area that the woman was murdered and wandered off by himself. Nick and Aaron followed him, wondering what was wrong with him. They found Zak in the room that used to belong to the murdered woman. Nick headed down to get something for the spirit of the woman that they had left at her murder site. Aaron tried to get Zak to come out of the room.
Zak shook his head and told him that it was too dangerous.

The spirit obviously thought that it was back when she was alive, or she knew of the malevolent spirits that still wandered around the place.
After Nick came back with the potted plant, or flowers (I can't remember) the spirit seemed to leave Zak. They believe after that, that Zak had suffered a parial possession.

Sylvia Browne, the renowned psychic, has said that there are dark souls out there. So naturally, if there are dark souls, the soul would remain behind after the body has gone from this world. and some, especially malevolent could want to possess people.

IOUs....

Social Security to start cashing Uncle Sam's IOUs


PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – The retirement nest egg of an entire generation is stashed away in this small town along the Ohio River: $2.5 trillion in IOUs from the federal government, payable to the Social Security Administration.
It's time to start cashing them in.
For more than two decades, Social Security collected more money in payroll taxes than it paid out in benefits — billions more each year.
Not anymore. This year, for the first time since the 1980s, when Congress last overhauled Social Security, the retirement program is projected to pay out more in benefits than it collects in taxes — nearly $29 billion more.
Sounds like a good time to start tapping the nest egg. Too bad the federal government already spent that money over the years on other programs, preferring to borrow from Social Security rather than foreign creditors. In return, the Treasury Department issued a stack of IOUs — in the form of Treasury bonds — which are kept in a nondescript office building just down the street from Parkersburg's municipal offices.
Now the government will have to borrow even more money, much of it abroad, to start paying back the IOUs, and the timing couldn't be worse. The government is projected to post a record $1.5 trillion budget deficit this year, followed by trillion dollar deficits for years to come.
Social Security's shortfall will not affect current benefits. As long as the IOUs last, benefits will keep flowing. But experts say it is a warning sign that the program's finances are deteriorating. Social Security is projected to drain its trust funds by 2037 unless Congress acts, and there's concern that the looming crisis will lead to reduced benefits.
"This is not just a wake-up call, this is it. We're here," said Mary Johnson, a policy analyst with The Senior Citizens League, an advocacy group. "We are not going to be able to put it off any more."
For more than two decades, regardless of which political party was in power, Congress has been accused of raiding the Social Security trust funds to pay for other programs, masking the size of the budget deficit.
Remember Al Gore's "lockbox," the one he was going to use to protect Social Security? The former vice president talked about it so much during the 2000 presidential campaign that he was parodied on "Saturday Night Live."
Gore lost the election and never got his lockbox. But to illustrate the government's commitment to repaying Social Security, the Treasury Department has been issuing special bonds that earn interest for the retirement program. The bonds are unique because they are actually printed on paper, while other government bonds exist only in electronic form.
They are stored in a three-ring binder, locked in the bottom drawer of a white metal filing cabinet in the Parkersburg offices of Bureau of Public Debt. The agency, which is part of the Treasury Department, opened offices in Parkersburg in the 1950s as part of a plan to locate important government functions away from Washington, D.C., in case of an attack during the Cold War.
One bond is worth a little more than $15.1 billion and another is valued at just under $10.7 billion. In all, the agency has about $2.5 trillion in bonds, all backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government. But don't bother trying to steal them; they're nonnegotiable, which means they are worthless on the open market.
More than 52 million people receive old age or disability benefits from Social Security. The average benefit for retirees is a little under $1,200 a month. Disabled workers get an average of $1,100 a month.
Social Security is financed by payroll taxes — employers and employees must each pay a 6.2 percent tax on workers' earnings up to $106,800. Retirees can start getting early, reduced benefits at age 62. They get full benefits if they wait until they turn 66. Those born after 1960 will have to wait until they turn 67.
Social Security's financial problems have been looming for years as the nation's 78 million baby boomers approached retirement age. The oldest are already there. As that huge group of people starts collecting benefits — and stops paying payroll taxes — Social Security's trust funds will shrink, running out of money by 2037, according to the latest projection from the trustees who oversee the program.
The recession is making things worse, at least in the short term. Tax receipts are down from the loss of more than 8 million jobs, and applications for early retirement benefits have spiked from older workers who were laid off and forced to retire.
Stephen C. Goss, chief actuary for the Social Security Administration, says the crisis has been years in the making. "If this helps get people to look more seriously at that in the nearer term, that's probably a good thing. But it's only really a punctuation mark on the fact that we have longer-term financial issues that need to be addressed."
In the short term, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projects that Social Security will continue to pay out more in benefits than it collects in taxes for the next three years. It is projected to post small surpluses of $6 billion each in 2014 and 2015, before returning to indefinite deficits in 2016.
For the budget year that ends in September, Social Security is projected to collect $677 billion in taxes and spend $706 billion on benefits and expenses.
Social Security will also collect about $120 billion in interest on the trust funds, according to the CBO projections, meaning its overall balance sheet will continue to grow. The interest, however, is paid by the government, adding even more to the budget deficit.
While Congress must shore up the program, action is unlikely this year, said Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., who just took over last week as chairman of the House subcommittee that oversees Social Security.
"The issues required to address the long-term solvency needs of Social Security can be done in a careful, thoughtful and orderly way and they don't need to be done in the next few months," Pomeroy said.
The national debt — the amount of money the government owes its creditors — is about $12.5 trillion, or nearly $42,000 for every man, woman and child in the country. About $8 trillion has been borrowed in public debt markets, much of it from foreign creditors. The rest came from various government trust funds, including retirement funds for civil servants and the military. About $2.5 trillion is owed to Social Security.
Good luck to the politician who reneges on that debt, said Barbara Kennelly, a former Democratic congresswoman from Connecticut who is now president of the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare.
"Those bonds are protected by the full faith and credit of the United States of America," Kennelly said. "They're as solid as what we owe China and Japan."

I don't know about you, but isn't more money going out than what is coming in a BAD thing?

I just got home from shopping and am humbled. I was worried that I didn't have enough money to pay for what we needed to get and the kind lady in front of me in line over heard me asking Rich to put some things back and told me that if I went over what I had, she'd pick up the difference.


Thank God for the kindness and selflessness of strangers. And God Bless that stranger.

In GOD We trust...

I was looking at Yahoo just a bit ago and the headline "Court upholds 'Under God' in Pledge of Allegiance."

After reading it... I'm both happy that they have upheld it... and saddened that Newdow is yet again back in the news.... hasn't his 15 minutes of fame expired by now?

Here's the article

SAN FRANCISCO – An appellate court has upheld references to God on U.S. currency and in the Pledge of Allegiance, rejecting arguments they violate the constitutional separation of church and state.
"The Pledge of Allegiance serves to unite our vast nation through the proud recitation of some of the ideals upon which our Republic was founded," Judge Carlos Bea wrote for the majority in the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals 2-1 ruling Thursday.
Bea noted that schools do not require students to recite the pledge, which was amended to include the words "under God" by a 1954 federal law. Members of Congress at the time said they wanted to set the United States apart from "godless communists."
In a separate 3-0 ruling, the appeals court upheld the inscription of the national motto "In God We Trust" on U.S. coins and currency, citing an earlier 9th Circuit panel that ruled the phrase is ceremonial and patriotic and "has nothing whatsover to do with the establishment of religion."
The same appeals court caused a national uproar and prompted accusations of judicial activism when it decided in Sacramento athiest Michael Newdow's favor in 2002, ruling that the Pledge of Allegiance violated the First Amendment prohibition against government endorsement of religion.
President George W. Bush called the 2002 decision "ridiculous," senators passed a resolution condemning the ruling and Newdow received death threats.
That lawsuit reached the U.S. Supreme Court in 2004, but the high court said Newdow lacked the legal standing to file the suit because he didn't have custody of his daughter, on whose behalf he brought the case.
So Newdow filed an identical challenge on behalf of other parents who objected to the recitation of the pledge at school. In 2005, a federal judge in Sacramento decided in Newdow's favor, prompting the appeals court to take up the case again.
Judge Stephen Reinhardt, who was part of the three-judge panel that ruled in Newdow's favor eight years ago, wrote a 123-page dissent to the 60-page majority opinion.
"Under no sound legal analysis adhering to binding Supreme Court precedent could this court uphold state-directed, teacher-led, daily recitation of the 'under God' version of the Pledge of Allegiance by children in public schools," wrote Reinhardt, who was appointed by President Jimmy Carter in 1980.
Newdow, a doctor and attorney who founded a group called the First Atheist Church of True Science, told The Associated Press he would ask the appeals court to rehear the case. If it rejects that request, Newdow said he'll appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
"The whole argument that 'under God' wasn't placed into the pledge for religious purposes is bogus," Newdow said. "I hope people recognize this is not against God or people who believe in God. It's about the government not treating people equally on the basis of their lawful religious views."
Rory Little, a professor at the University of California Hastings College of the Law, said the Supreme Court is unlikely to review the case because Thursday's ruling is the third appellate court decision upholding the pledge.
In addition, Congress passed legislation reaffirming the pledge in 2002, following the 9th Circuit's ruling that struck it down.
"I think this is the last word on this particular lawsuit," Little said. "It's an important ruling."
Greg Katsas, who argued the currency case on behalf of the U.S. government when the appellate court heard the case in December 2007, said the panel made the right decision Thursday.
"I think these two phrases encapsulate the philosophy on which the nation was founded," said Katsas, who now works in private practice. "There is a religious aspect to saying "One nation under God," but it isn't like a prayer. When someone says the pledge, they're not praying to God, they're pledging allegiance to the country, the flag and the ideals of the country."

Hello GhostBusters.... I may need you...

I was just in the living room talking with my fiance and my mom and I heard the microwave on. So my first thought since my fiance didn't have dinner, that he was warming something up in there and asked what he put in the microwave. When he said he didn't put anything in there and I started smelling something burning, I went to investigate.

When i got there, I pressed the stop button or any of the other buttons (None would work.) and the display screen was blank. and I heard some small clicky poppy noises as well. so I had to open the door and unplug the thing. No one besides me and my fiance have been in the kitchen today and the last time either of us were in there was well over three hours ago...

So I don't know what to think, other than it's smelling up the house. window and fan is on so hopefully it was just a fluke...

ARGH it's so.... annoying to find that these people are so afraid of her that they have to bitch her out for taking FREE STUFF. Yet no one comments on the free stuff that the other Celebrities took, now do they? No....

Several months ago, my fiance and I watched the movie, Stand and Deliver. I was touched with Mr. Escalante's story. Tonight, while watching the local news, we saw a story about the teacher, who is now facing stage four bladder Cancer.

I hope that they'll be able to help him either fight it into remission, or god rest his soul, ease his pain in the final days of his life. I hope someday that there can be a cure for the nasty disease that is cancer and many people can be saved. God Bless the ones that have already succumbed to it's siren song

I want a Grant.... oh wait, that's Reagan....

A congressmen in North Carolina wishes to change the president of the 50 dollar bill to that of Ronald Reagan from that of Grant. The story is here.

The story got me thinking, How long has Grant been on the 50 dollar bill. for 96 years, since 1914, Grant has graced the bill. I don't know, I guess, changing the face of a bill that's been around for that long, to me at least, is like telling me that Pluto is no longer considered a planet.

Is American a language?





While looking up things on FB, since I was slipping into my bored self, I stumbled across a banned page that called "YOU came here, YOU need to learn our Language".

I started looking at some of the pictures and found the one above, that I had seen in our insurance agent's office one day last year. anyways, off topic. I started reading some of the comments on a picture of our flag outside someone's home and under it they basically said " That's right, you need to speak American now"

someone under that commented that American isn't a language, it's not even a country



I don't know what to say, I know there's such a thing called AMERICAN ENGLISH. And it's not the same ENGLISH that they speak over in England, well it is, but what we mean, means something else over there, if that makes sense. I think most of the people that were commenting on those pictures were like the youth in the picture above.
I believe one needs to look up the facts before shooting their mouths off, because they might end up shooting themselves in the foot.

a Ninja Resturant?

While purusing the odd news section of Yahoo, I stumbled across this article about a new Ninja Resturant.

after reading the article, I'd be kinda curious to eat there, just as long as they don't take my head because I don't tip well enough.

I would like to know....

WHAT WAS HE THINKING? WHY?

I just recently read a story off of Yahoo.com. Yesterday as students were leaving a middle school in Colorado, a man approched two of them and asked them if they were students. After saying yes, he pulled out his shot gun and fired two shots, shooting both of them before he went to reload.  a teacher saw what happened and tackled him to the ground before he could hurt anyone else.

My thoughts and prayers are with those injured and that teacher is a real hero.

I hope we can find out why he randomly attacked students at this middle school that was only a couple of miles from Columbine High school, which was the scene of a horrific school shooting back in 1999.

Should Tiger Woods apologize to his Mistresses?

While watching tonight's Hannity on Fox News network, I watched as Gloria Alredd the attorney for one of Tiger Woods' alleged Mistresses demanded an apology from Tiger woods for her client Veronica, below is her press conference










As for my thoughts about this were along the lines of WHY? Why should Mr Woods have to apologize to her? He wasn't married to her. The ones that got hurt the most were Tiger's wife and children.

Veronica knew Tiger was married and yet carried on the affair with him. In my own opinion, I believe that if you get involved with someone who is married, you are setting yourself up for failure.

First off, How can you TRUST ANYTHING that they tell you or do for you? They aren't being truthful with their wife/husband, so what makes the affair you have with them any different? Do you THINK they will keep the whispered promises? No.

Second, IF they are cheating on their spouse WITH you. what makes you think that they won't cheat again with someone else on you or their spouse? I mean the mindset is "well if I did it once and got away, what's a second time? third time? and so on"

Third, like my father and the old adage says, It takes two to tango. They didn't force you into the affair with them. If you didn't want to pursue the relationship, You could have said NO. no one put a gun to your head. We still live in a society where we have the freedom to choose who to and who not to have a relationship with.

I'm not sure, but it seems that the MSM and Hollywood seem to be making Adultery into less of a sin then it is.

I'm not saying that these affairs are all Tiger's fault, or they are all the alleged Mistresses fault, when TWO mature adults enter into an Extramarital Affair, they are both to blame and the ones that are hurt the most, the spouse and children if either partner has them should be the ones they apologize to.

Why oh Why?

I just don't understand all of the negative press against Sara Pailn. Why is it so wrong for a woman to stand up to the crap that the left keeps throwing her way? Do they see the white light speeding at them at the end of the tunnel when she's around? I just don't get it.

Why do they have to attack her choices? I mean aren't we all accountable for our choices to our selves and God? every where I look on Facebook it's more anti Sarah Pailn crap that honestly should be shoveled into some garden somewhere.

Everyone's entitled to their on opinion, but honestly, can't you just show her some resepect for standing up for what she believes is RIGHT? she sticks to her guns, honest and fair. we USED to respect those who were honest and stood up for what they believed, why should we think any differently about her?

these smear campaigns are only prove one thing, the other side is scared. I am so sick of these campaigns. Why can't we go back to what it was like in school where the kids are running for class president and they just tell you their platform and on to the next one, let you decide who should be in charge..... ah the good old days

My thoughts and prayers

My thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured today and their families when a plane crashed into an IRS building in Austin Texas.

I'm not exactly sure what to think as more and more information comes out about the pilot.

Author accused of plagerisim, Another lawsuit

While I was perusing the news, this story caught my eye.

" J.K. Rowling "Saddened" by Potter Plagiarism Claims 

 

The heat has been turned up under Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
J.K Rowling has been tacked on as a defendant in a lawsuit filed against her U.K. publisher in 2004, which claims that the bestselling author plagiarized part of the fourth book in her über-successful Harry Potter series.
The suit alleges that, in writing Goblet of Fire, Rowling ripped off the 1987 children's book The Adventures of Willy the Wizard: No. 1 Livid Land by Adrian Jacobs, who died in 1997.
To which the embattled author says, "Hogwarts," er, "hogwash."
"I am saddened that yet another claim has been made that I have taken material from another source to write Harry," Rowling said in a statement released by her rep to Bloomberg Business Week .
"The fact is I had never heard of the author or the book before the first accusation by those connected to the author's estate in 2004; I have certainly never read the book."
She continued: "The claims that are made are not only unfounded but absurd and I am disappointed that I, and my U.K. publisher Bloomsbury, are put in a position to have to defend ourselves."
Rowling says that counsel for her and Bloomsbury will move immediately for the case to be dismissed for lack of merit.
Jacobs' estate says that it was the late author who came up with the idea of wizard prisons, hospitals and schools, long before Harry's lightning bolt scar was a glimmer in Rowling's eye.
Also mentioned in the suit is that Jacbos and Rowling shared the same literary agent, Christopher Little.
Bloomsbury has denied all accusations of plagiarism on Rowling's part."


I'm not quite sure about this law suit after reading this story. I mean first off,  why just book four of the series and not the whole series of books? If I recall, the first mention of St. Mungos is in book 2 when they asked about Lockhart. the prision was mentioned in book three with the demnetors and Sirius Black escaping from there and the school is in every book.
I have to side with JK Rowling on this one and call the lawsuit rubbish. I think most of these people just try to make some obscure thing, trying to get a piece of the Harry Potter empire

States are Starting to Remember what the Tenth Ammendment Actually Means!

I am currently watching the Glenn Beck Program on TiVo, and I have just been served up a healthy dose of real hope. Apparently a majority of the states (2/3rds according to Beck himself) are reading some wierd document called the United States Constitution. Huh. And here I thought we weren't supposed to read that thing...oh, well. Might as well look at it myself...oh, looky here...the Tenth Ammendment...let's see...the rights not specifically granted to the federal government in the U.S. Constitution shall be retained by the states or the people...

Wait...did I read that right? The rights not specifically granted to the federal government...yeah...states or the people...okay, yep. Read it right. States and people have rights.

Well, it seems to me that several dozen states have realized that the health care bill is...wait for it...UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!! Holy Church and State, Batman! What a revelation!

Now, as an added sort of protection against this horrific mess of a bill, two thirds of the states are passing CONSTITUTIONAL AMMENDMENTS to prevent that damn thing from becoming law in each state that passes one!

Amazing. 2/3. Can all of these people be that racist? How dare they!

Westminster Dog Show, and some about PETA

If you are in touch with the dog show world, The granddaddy of all dog shows here in the United States, Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, held it's 134th dog show at Madison Square Gardens earlier this week.

My Congrats goes to best in show: Sadie the Scottish Terrier.

the WKC donates to all different types of charities, including ASPCA, Angels on a Leash, Guide Dog Foundation for the blind along with other Dog related charities and several vet schools via scholarships.

In part, not only is it a dog show, but they also give back. I remember, it was either 2002 or 2003 when I watched and they did a recognition section on the search and rescue dogs that helped during the aftermath of 9/11 I found the below quote on their web page of others they have recognized

Recognition: Through the years, Westminster has recognized in the Garden and on national television heroic dogs, individuals and organizations whose work touches people in need. That includes heroic war dogs, fire department dogs, search and rescue dogs and people of 9/11, participants in the rescue and recovery effort in the Gulf States, service dogs and therapy dog teams and the people, patients and families they touch, and many more.

the dog food company Pedigree, was one of the sponsors of the show and  if you watched it on USA network, every commercial break they advertised for their shelter dog adoption campaign. under the tag line "Help us Help dogs" they wanted to raise money to help those dogs in shelters. For the money raised during the two night event, Pedigree was going to match it dollar for dollar. I believe over 250,000 was raised, but I could be wrong.

Anyways, as I was watching the best in show judging today on USA as a rerun, I noticed as the Dobie went around after being judged, I heard the crowd booing and noticed at the bottom of my screen, that someone held up a homemade sign that said MUTTS RULE. At first I didn't see anything wrong with that. I mean granted the dog show was about pure breds, and there's local dog shows that you can enter mutts, but the WKC and the AKC (American Kennel Club) their judging is about a pure bred dog verses the breed Standard. Two of my dogs could be up for those shows, but my mother and Father had no interest in showing or breeding our dogs. and my other dog is a mutt. so I have nothing against either side.

After seeing that Sadie won, I came online to see if I could find anything about the person who ran onto the show floor and waved that sign and came across something that PETA did for this year's Westminster.

According to their blog, they were "forced to watch" the commercials advertising the dog show on USA because their cat was asleep on their lap while they waited for "HOUSE" to come back on.  and their plan for this years dog show was to show up as Klansmen and point out the similarties between the AKC and the KKK.

Yes you are reading that right, according to the People for Ethical Treatment for Animals, the AKC and the KKK are BFF's. Promoting pure bred dogs is exactly like the whole Master Race that the KKK stand for.  this is from the blog in question:
This year, we're up to something different and thought-provoking: We'll show up dressed as Klansmen to point out some of the eerie similarities between the AKC and the KKK. Pure bloodlines, master race/master pedigree, woeful lack of fashion sense. Creepy, isn't it?

 I'm not exactly sure where they get their facts, but here's one fact that I came across while researching a bit for this blog. They have their point coming across like all the dogs in shelters are mixed breeds or mutts. 

then I wonder how they feel that 25% of all dogs in Shelters are in fact Pure bred dogs. and the number one reason dogs end up in shelters is because the family moved and the new place won't allow dogs, or big dogs (I recently came across this problem since we recently moved, luckily, we found a place that did allow us to keep our dogs).

When I think I can't be surprised by anything PETA does or says, they come out of no where with a even bigger WTF in my book. So I think this picture below will say it all for me
