I think I'm going to be sick...

I don't say that very often when I read news articles, but this one foots the bill. Literally.

A friend on facebook posted a story from CNN involving a man from Canada.

Title of the story? After mass dog slaughter, Stressed man files for workman's comp.

Seriously people, after killing over a hundred dogs, he filed for workman's comp. And I'm not talking about taking them in to be put down. over the span of 2 days, this....man shot and knifed PEFECTLY Healthy animals, then dumping their bodies in a mass grave.

the man is claiming PTSD for doing this and in the report he filed (he got compensated by the way)  that the company he worked for ordered the killings.

I...don't know what else to say about this, other than when I go home tonight I'm giving my dogs a big hug. Stories like this just make my blood boil and turn cold at the same time

Gaines leads in Senate race - Roseville Press-Tribune

Today, we had a special election in Placer county (not all, i believe only 29% of the county actually was apart of this election due to the district lines)

Above is a link to a story off of the Roseville Press Tribune website, projecting the results. At the precinct I worked at, Gaines was leading the vote.

I am a firm believer that "If you don't vote, you don't have a right to complain". My parents taught it to me, as their parents did them. I can understand some of the frustration of the voters (And precinct officers) of the costs behind this special election, some of the anger directed at Gaines (being a Conservative, and wanting to limit government, cutting costs, and help get California's economy back on track)

but come on, is it really Gaines fault? Special Elections are held all the time, I mean I remember several in the last few years alone, and I don't remember a blip about how much it was costing the county. And as a citizen of the United States you are given the right to vote and share in the Democratic office. Since July, the District 1 Senate seat has been vacated due to death of the previous state senator, Gaines had the opprotunity to run for his assembly seat AND the Senate seat in November.

In November it was too close to call, hence the special election today. If Gaines is named winner, his assembly seat vacancy will be cause for another special election later this spring.

I guess what I'm trying to say, yes I do understand the fustration of the costs, but at the same time, it is part of our democratic proccess. Without the Democratic process, we have no voice.

Can the MSM get OFF of dissing Sarah Palin? Seriously.... Now they are bitching because she took the free SWAG at some awards luncheon earlier this week.

ARGH it's so.... annoying to find that these people are so afraid of her that they have to bitch her out for taking FREE STUFF. Yet no one comments on the free stuff that the other Celebrities took, now do they? No....

Is American a language?

While looking up things on FB, since I was slipping into my bored self, I stumbled across a banned page that called "YOU came here, YOU need to learn our Language".

I started looking at some of the pictures and found the one above, that I had seen in our insurance agent's office one day last year. anyways, off topic. I started reading some of the comments on a picture of our flag outside someone's home and under it they basically said " That's right, you need to speak American now"

I don't know what to say, I know there's such a thing called AMERICAN ENGLISH. And it's not the same ENGLISH that they speak over in England, well it is, but what we mean, means something else over there, if that makes sense. I think most of the people that were commenting on those pictures were like the youth in the picture above.
I believe one needs to look up the facts before shooting their mouths off, because they might end up shooting themselves in the foot.

WHAT WAS HE THINKING? WHY?

I just recently read a story off of Yahoo.com. Yesterday as students were leaving a middle school in Colorado, a man approched two of them and asked them if they were students. After saying yes, he pulled out his shot gun and fired two shots, shooting both of them before he went to reload.  a teacher saw what happened and tackled him to the ground before he could hurt anyone else.

My thoughts and prayers are with those injured and that teacher is a real hero.

I hope we can find out why he randomly attacked students at this middle school that was only a couple of miles from Columbine High school, which was the scene of a horrific school shooting back in 1999.

Should Tiger Woods apologize to his Mistresses?

While watching tonight's Hannity on Fox News network, I watched as Gloria Alredd the attorney for one of Tiger Woods' alleged Mistresses demanded an apology from Tiger woods for her client Veronica, below is her press conference










As for my thoughts about this were along the lines of WHY? Why should Mr Woods have to apologize to her? He wasn't married to her. The ones that got hurt the most were Tiger's wife and children.

Veronica knew Tiger was married and yet carried on the affair with him. In my own opinion, I believe that if you get involved with someone who is married, you are setting yourself up for failure.

First off, How can you TRUST ANYTHING that they tell you or do for you? They aren't being truthful with their wife/husband, so what makes the affair you have with them any different? Do you THINK they will keep the whispered promises? No.

Second, IF they are cheating on their spouse WITH you. what makes you think that they won't cheat again with someone else on you or their spouse? I mean the mindset is "well if I did it once and got away, what's a second time? third time? and so on"

Third, like my father and the old adage says, It takes two to tango. They didn't force you into the affair with them. If you didn't want to pursue the relationship, You could have said NO. no one put a gun to your head. We still live in a society where we have the freedom to choose who to and who not to have a relationship with.

I'm not sure, but it seems that the MSM and Hollywood seem to be making Adultery into less of a sin then it is.

I'm not saying that these affairs are all Tiger's fault, or they are all the alleged Mistresses fault, when TWO mature adults enter into an Extramarital Affair, they are both to blame and the ones that are hurt the most, the spouse and children if either partner has them should be the ones they apologize to.

Why oh Why?

I just don't understand all of the negative press against Sara Pailn. Why is it so wrong for a woman to stand up to the crap that the left keeps throwing her way? Do they see the white light speeding at them at the end of the tunnel when she's around? I just don't get it.

Why do they have to attack her choices? I mean aren't we all accountable for our choices to our selves and God? every where I look on Facebook it's more anti Sarah Pailn crap that honestly should be shoveled into some garden somewhere.

Everyone's entitled to their on opinion, but honestly, can't you just show her some resepect for standing up for what she believes is RIGHT? she sticks to her guns, honest and fair. we USED to respect those who were honest and stood up for what they believed, why should we think any differently about her?

these smear campaigns are only prove one thing, the other side is scared. I am so sick of these campaigns. Why can't we go back to what it was like in school where the kids are running for class president and they just tell you their platform and on to the next one, let you decide who should be in charge..... ah the good old days

Westminster Dog Show, and some about PETA

If you are in touch with the dog show world, The granddaddy of all dog shows here in the United States, Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, held it's 134th dog show at Madison Square Gardens earlier this week.

My Congrats goes to best in show: Sadie the Scottish Terrier.

the WKC donates to all different types of charities, including ASPCA, Angels on a Leash, Guide Dog Foundation for the blind along with other Dog related charities and several vet schools via scholarships.

In part, not only is it a dog show, but they also give back. I remember, it was either 2002 or 2003 when I watched and they did a recognition section on the search and rescue dogs that helped during the aftermath of 9/11 I found the below quote on their web page of others they have recognized

Recognition: Through the years, Westminster has recognized in the Garden and on national television heroic dogs, individuals and organizations whose work touches people in need. That includes heroic war dogs, fire department dogs, search and rescue dogs and people of 9/11, participants in the rescue and recovery effort in the Gulf States, service dogs and therapy dog teams and the people, patients and families they touch, and many more.

the dog food company Pedigree, was one of the sponsors of the show and  if you watched it on USA network, every commercial break they advertised for their shelter dog adoption campaign. under the tag line "Help us Help dogs" they wanted to raise money to help those dogs in shelters. For the money raised during the two night event, Pedigree was going to match it dollar for dollar. I believe over 250,000 was raised, but I could be wrong.

Anyways, as I was watching the best in show judging today on USA as a rerun, I noticed as the Dobie went around after being judged, I heard the crowd booing and noticed at the bottom of my screen, that someone held up a homemade sign that said MUTTS RULE. At first I didn't see anything wrong with that. I mean granted the dog show was about pure breds, and there's local dog shows that you can enter mutts, but the WKC and the AKC (American Kennel Club) their judging is about a pure bred dog verses the breed Standard. Two of my dogs could be up for those shows, but my mother and Father had no interest in showing or breeding our dogs. and my other dog is a mutt. so I have nothing against either side.

After seeing that Sadie won, I came online to see if I could find anything about the person who ran onto the show floor and waved that sign and came across something that PETA did for this year's Westminster.

According to their blog, they were "forced to watch" the commercials advertising the dog show on USA because their cat was asleep on their lap while they waited for "HOUSE" to come back on.  and their plan for this years dog show was to show up as Klansmen and point out the similarties between the AKC and the KKK.

Yes you are reading that right, according to the People for Ethical Treatment for Animals, the AKC and the KKK are BFF's. Promoting pure bred dogs is exactly like the whole Master Race that the KKK stand for.  this is from the blog in question:

 I'm not exactly sure where they get their facts, but here's one fact that I came across while researching a bit for this blog. They have their point coming across like all the dogs in shelters are mixed breeds or mutts. 

then I wonder how they feel that 25% of all dogs in Shelters are in fact Pure bred dogs. and the number one reason dogs end up in shelters is because the family moved and the new place won't allow dogs, or big dogs (I recently came across this problem since we recently moved, luckily, we found a place that did allow us to keep our dogs).

When I think I can't be surprised by anything PETA does or says, they come out of no where with a even bigger WTF in my book. So I think this picture below will say it all for me

Cause for Recent Snow Storms in the Eastern United States

I was purusing my facebook page today (still trying to get used to the new lay out) and a notification came up saying I had a new poll open that I could take, so I clicked.

The poll was basically what do you think is the cause of the recent blizzards in the Eastern United states? with the answers of Global Climate Change, Bad Luck or Others.

Now forgive me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember a little something call Winter, that comes every year about this time that brings snow, and rain and cold and wet to our part of the world for several months before giving way to spring. it's a cycle of the seasons that brings our different weather patterns, am I right?

so why is everyone freaking out over snow? Snow's good right? Snow means snow pack which means spring run off, meaning water in our streams, rivers, lakes and what not?

I've never lived anywhere where there's been snow longer than a few minutes, so I've never suffered a 'snow day' or been caught unable to drive to work because the roads are closed, so I don't get to comment on that 'fun'. I'm just confused on to why everyone has to point the blame at either Bush, or Obama, or Gore, or even GOD, when it's a NATUAL CYCLE of the planet's weather systems.

Why do people shoot that abortion is murder of the unborn while they call the murder of the already born in our wars as collateral damage? I know of no fetus killed in my name or my countries name. I can think of thousands of living children killed in our name by our government.



Would seperating one who is on life supprot from it be considered murder? For if they cannot live without the artificial support of such systems, do they really have life? For, in reality, without the artificial support of another they have no life of their own.


Although I PERSONALLY disavow the practice, hence I do not participate, nor is it in my grasp or pervue to stop it. Our wars on the other hand are quit a different senario. Stopping the killing of the born first, as it is in our grasp. Then personally find a solution to each and every unwanted preganancy in your community. Teach and live personal responsibility to all. first off, I'm Pro-Life, but I can see where there can be exceptions and only on RARE occasions, would I look the other way, so to speak.

1.) If the child was the result of Rape and or Incest

2.) If the Mother's life was in danger

3.) if the baby, if born, would NOT have any sort of chance to have any kind of "Normal Life"

Recently Jestered and Confused

Last week, Our friend Jester came to California to visit her grandmother and us. We took her up to Nice, CA, to visit her on and off again boyfriend for the day and after the three almost four hour ride from hell, no seriously, we all figured we somehow traveled though to a new demension where there's no sign of life for miles, just rocks, trees, grass, and endless curvey roads (Oh and turnouts every five feet), we finally arrive in Nice (A nice place to live according to the welcome sign). I thnk we were so bored on the trip up there, we started laughing at the road signs to try to pass the time. anyways, we arrive and they play singstar for a bit (I didn't join, cause I can't sing worth anything, though Jester and Lysander have great voices) then Jester's boyfriend put on District 9 for us to watch (another boring amount of time, I didn't find it as intresting as the movie poster looked) and then everyone decided to run a D&D 3.5 mini adventure. One of the Roommates, ran, while everyone (save me) played quickly made characters.

I decided to stay out of the game, since it has been well over 2 years since I've played 3.5 and I can't remember the rules, I just remember that I had a hard time with the rules when I did play in the past, so, trying to remember them on the spot, was, admitidly, kinda hard. thing was, everyone tried to get me to play, even though I said I don't remember the rules (oh we'll help you was the response, Do you know how much of an idiot I feel when I need help with that?) and Jester said that I would have to famliarize myself with the rules again if I want to play Daphne in the restarted (for the zillionth time) Greek Game. A campaign that actually brought both my character Daphne together with Lysander's character and me and Lysander together.

Daphne (my D&D character) has gone though so many rebuilds, one minute she was a bard, then another player said I didn't do it right, so he rebuilt her to a ranger, then something else happened and she was, last time I checked, a duel weilding barbarian that could take a hit and keep on going. (admitidly, I liked that for a while). levels dipped as low as 10 and up there as 15 till we finally settled on 13 before the game ended abruptly because one of the players decided to harrass Jester (and commiting several crimes in the prossess).

I know the revamped version would be only level 5, and I know Lysander and Jester will help me, but I just got fed up other people creating characters for me to play because I'm too stupid to do it myself. (and of course of the people forcing me to change because I can't play the class right or they can do it better so I get stuck wth some fighting class, even though I wanted to try to understand a magic user). I got tired of the bickering over the rules (even though I didn't get them, myself) and players acting like they are the most important one in the game, that the game should revolve around him (even though it's supposed to be a group of heroes, saving the world) (It would be like a Justice League comic, but only spotlighting Superman and how great he is, I think there is a comic for Superman, called Super man, Am I right?), and even going as far as over the GM's head to get his way (it's complicated)

I have expressed intrest in playing again, I know, but at the same time I thought we'd go with 4e, not 3.5e, but as of the talk on saturday and then again on sunday, it was 3.5. I know, those that are invited in playing in the new game won't pull the same crap that the it's-all-about-me guy did, but at the same time, I'm doubting I'm going to have any fun at all, the last several times I played, I didn't, so my hopes for the next time are dimming rapidly.

and because I'm being wishy-washy, I'm confusing not only myself but Lysander as well. He keeps telling me choose a direction and go with it, but I always have to look at all the options before I can choose. not to mention if I say yes, I'll play, what happens then if we don't start for another year and a half, I could be in a tottally different mindset then, than I am now. If I knew when the game would start, I would be more apt to make a decision.

And it's not just D&D I'm having problems with, BESM (or Big Eyes Small Mouth) game set I'm having problems with as well, and I have two ideas for games for that system, doesn't help that I don't have an actual copy of the book on me to look over, I have a hard time reading pdf's on the computer for some reason. (pdfs and me don't mix well). and I don't know all the rules for the game, and because the players I'll have know more then me, I'm not sure I'm going to have fun GMing the game, my last game ended in failure, I'm not to keen to have my own world end the same way.

now if they made a system where I can ENJOY reading the rules (most of these read like dry text books) then I may enjoy running a game in the system

Immigration

I was perusing a fellow's blog and noticed a picture on it, It had lady Liberty holding out her hand and saying Stop America's Closed.

I have some mixed feelings on this issue, since I'm a great granddaughter of immigrants. I don't know what the current Immigration Laws are for our country, since I lack the need to watch and pay attention to the news 24-7 (I find it hampers my creative process, not that I don't find it interesting, just taken in little doses is enough for me, and if I miss something, I have a walking info hound as a fiance) Anyways, as I was saying I don't know the current laws, and I know there are people flooding to this country to get away from their oppressive governments and what not.

For them, it's still a land of opportunity. I think, if you want to live here, and become an actual citizen *THE RIGHT WAY* then you should have a chance. Have a sponsor here that will vouch for you, that you won't sit on your butt all day and watch tv, waiting for our government to hand you some money, that you didn't earn.

My Great Grand-father came over here, and worked. he had a sponsor here that told the government that he'd vouch for my Great grandfather, and that's what my great grandfather did. He worked, was able to become a citizen and bring his family over from Italy. His son's worked every day in their lives, all of them serving this country in branches of the military.
That's the way I think immigration should work, After all, America's a Melting pot of different nationalities and people. If we block the chance, we may loose the chance to know the brilliance of the next Albert Einstein or what have you

Draining.....

well I'm with out a laptop till I can afford to pay for a new adapter.... it fried itself. and I'm surprised that I'm not going though SL withdrawl. *shrugs* other, more pressing things on my plate than a second life and it's drama.... I'm probably "dead" by now anyways, stupid vampireism in SL.

Anyways, I'm searching, frantically for a new place to live. I hope and pray that I can find one soon.... as the realator lady said today, I have 27 days to move..... Please God, help me find a place soon..... I don't know what we'll do if it doesn't happen. I'm also worried about my friend's brother, one of my mom's friends and my aunt. the latter two seem to be inches away from death.... so to speak.... the brother had surgery after an accident. God Speed to everyone.

of Kids, Crossing Guards.... the old and the new

Ugh, I used to be a crossing guard when I was in the fifth and sixth grades, and I loved it.... however, today, I saw a kid, who couldn't be past the fourth grade doing the job, NOT only was he waving the stop sign as he was waiting for fellow classmates to cross the street, but once he was back on the corner, he was using the sign as a gun, and there was a teacher or parent STANDING right there.... what has happened to the rules for being a crossing guard? I can remember that if you played with the signs when I was doing it, we'd get repremanded.... *shakes head* I don't know about the current generation of school kids.... I think they are too soft, too babied.... too.... I don't know. Well I know but i don't know how to put it to words.....
We are treating the kids of today with kid gloves, every time we turn around there's a new case of child abuse or something, NOT because the child was beaten by the parents, but the child fell down and bruised an arm and CPS is called. Seriously, what has happened to the kids of today?
Parents are more apt to plop them down in front of the TV then send them outside to play because there are more dangers in today's world than that of yesteryear, but if you don't want the kids playing in the front yard, SEND THEM TO THE BACK YARD.....
Why are we being afraid of our kids? Yes we want them to have a better life than what we had growing up, who doesn't but why cater to their every whim? why sacrifice our morals and beliefs about child rearing to "doctors" who "know better?"
CHILDREN DO NOT COME WITH INSTRUCTION MANUALS, PARENTING IS A LEARNING ON THE JOB TRAINING, AND NO ONE IS PERFECT!!!!

once we accept that, we can relax and let our kids be kids. they are growing up way to fast these days

I found this while looking around on a friends facebook page and after reading the comments, I decided to take a look. though some of the pictures are just humorous cake toppers, some of them, though cleaver, are just...wrong? is that the word I'm looking for?

To me Marriage is a sacred institution that needs to be saved. people are walking down the aisle and then turning around and running to the courthouse at the first sign of trouble these days. don't get me wrong, if one partner is abusive, then I say get away as soon as you can, or if the other partner is unfaithful and you can't forgive them, but if the two of you have a disagreement, it's not the end of your marriage. I read one reader's comment, saying that she thinks Marriage isn't practical these days and is only for the highly religous. *shakes her head* I consider myself religous, though I haven't read the Bible, I don't attend church reguarly, but I view Marriage as sacred, two people entering an enternal bond, pledging their loyalty and selves to their partner before God and everyone till death do them part. I also believe that people should WAIT till after they get married to have sex, but they shouldn't get married just because they want to take the next step. Marriage, like divorce shouldn't be entered lightly, unlike divorce, Marriage is supposed to last forever, he or she will be the one you live with, laugh with, cry with, worry about, pray for, fight with, and millions of other things for the rest of your lives. it's a huge Commintment, because after the 'I do's' it's no longer me and her(or him), it's we.

As we move away from what marriage really stands for, we begin to trivaltize everthing that the institution stands for, Last year here in California, we the voters had to either stand up and support the tradtional values and rights granted to us by Marriage, or allow it to be changed to allow members of the same sex allow to marry and thus allowing them to call themselves "married". Now, don't get me wrong, I have no problems with homosexuals, if I'm friends with you, I'll remain your friend, but I don't think their union should be called a marriage. and on Nov 8th, Prop 8 was voted in favor of the traditional values (can't remember if that was a no vote or a yes vote)....

I think the point is, we really need to protect and rebuild the sacredness of marriage.

The Ho-Hum Blues

as I sit here on the last day of August, facing a new month, the year of 2009 slowly dwindles to it's final months, I look back at the last year. A marriage, a birth, death, loss both material and financial, political power struggles, insults from government officials, war, fires.... the list is endless. Last year Evy and Char married, I lost my father the very next day, the start of this year, I lose my job and source of income, we loose our house due to foreclosure, I have to postpone my wedding to Lysander, Evy and Char have a child, though she's several months premature, so each day is a struggle to survive for the little one, I'm told daily by Lysander what the politicians who are appointed to see to "our best intrests" are calling us all idiots and basically telling us that we don't know what's good for us.

I am trying to keep my head above water, be optomistic, but it seems that each day, the water keeps rising and the air ceiling keeps decreseing and sometimes undertows drag me down.

Sometimes, like Tony Lewis in the 10th Kingdom, I could be a dog, and not have to worry about everything and anything.

I've included an awesome picture of Hiei, everyone's favorite fire demon from the Anime series Yu Yu Hakuso. Anyone who knows me knows that is it my favorite Anime of all time. I have been rewatching the series on DVD at night while I explore either Second Life as either Daphne Juneberry or Mystic Winterwolf or reading. Lysander, my mother and I have been doing a readathon since June 3rd, I've extended it to 12/31 since we'll be moving sometime in the near future. and I'm surprised that I've missed reading. I used to love to read, but after starting college and dating Zynn, I stopped, save the Harry Potter Series and school releated material. It started up again after I got into Manga, and for awhile, that's all I read. but now after doing this readathon, I've got back into reading and sometimes, I'll be on Secondlife, reading, and watching TV or a DVD.

Has PETA gone too far?

This is the question I pose, after watching a news report on how they protested against McDonald's, with the Unhappy meals, to SCARE children into becoming vegetarians. HOW much of an idiot do you have to be to scare children into thinking the way they do?

Don't get me wrong, I support Animal Rights, and treating them the proper way. But there are some organizations out there, like PETA, that in my opinion take their cause to the extreme and after seeing that report about the Unhappy meals, I thought that PETA just needed to go away.

anyways, just before I was going to go this morning, a headline caught my eye on AOL news, and I had to read it. (Here's the link to the story) My GOD do these people even flipping think? How can they be so offensive to people THEY DON'T EVEN FLIPPING KNOW?

I'm an overweight person, and it's not because, oh my gosh, I had a piece of meat got me that way. AND CHANGING MY DIET TO EATING JUST VEGETABLES, LIKE PETA WANTS, isn't going to make me loose weight. changing the diet to a WELL BALANCE MEAL of MEAT and veggies will do that, meat gives you PROTEIN which helps with BUILDING MUSCLES, which in turn when you excersise, burns fat.... Do they even THINK over there at PETA?
